Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Atta Tarar has said that India’s irresponsible conduct has now extended into the world of sports. Speaking in Islamabad on Tuesday, he criticized India for using “petty tactics” following recent military setbacks. Tarar made the remarks at a conference hosted by the Institute of Regional Studies.
He stated that India, after suffering defeats on the battlefield, is now resorting to unsportsmanlike behavior. “India lost on the front lines. Now it tries to save face in stadiums,” he said. He accused India of turning sports into a political tool to distract from its failures. The minister said Pakistan, in contrast, has responded with dignity and exposed India’s misinformation.
Tarar claimed Pakistan’s achievements during the recent four-day conflict pushed India to call for a ceasefire. He emphasized that Pakistan continues to promote peace and stability in the region. He added that despite its aggression, India is attempting to play the victim in front of the world. “Modi’s Hindutva ideology has been politically and morally defeated,” he declared.
The minister also addressed global concerns over recent incidents like the one in Pahalgam, stating that Pakistan welcomed independent investigations. “Our war against terrorism is for our people and for the world’s safety,” Tarar said. He stressed that a nation violating international norms cannot claim to be a victim of violence.
In closing, Atta Tarar reaffirmed Pakistan’s full support for the people of Indian-occupied Kashmir. He urged the global community to resolve the issue according to UN resolutions. “Pakistan believes in peaceful coexistence and will continue to advocate for justice and regional harmony,” he said.
