
A delegation from the Chinese Embassy, led by Chargé d’Affaires Shi Yuanqiang, visited the NDMA Headquarters in Islamabad on Friday to observe ongoing flood relief and response activities.
During the visit, the NDMA team presented a detailed briefing on operations in monsoon-affected regions, highlighting coordinated efforts with provincial governments and disaster management authorities to assist displaced and affected communities.
Chairman NDMA, Lt General Inam Haider Malik, explained the agency’s rescue and evacuation measures, along with timely assistance under the Prime Minister Relief Fund, emphasizing the importance of swift action to save lives.
Shi Yuanqiang commended NDMA’s proactive approach, calling it essential for protecting lives, securing livelihoods, and strengthening Pakistan’s resilience against climate-related disasters, particularly during the ongoing monsoon season.
He also expressed condolences for the lives lost in recent floods and affirmed that China stands ready to support Pakistan in relief and rehabilitation efforts for affected areas.
The visit underscored continued cooperation between Pakistan and China in disaster management, with both sides agreeing to share knowledge, strengthen coordination, and improve preparedness for future climate challenges.
