The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) on Tuesday announced a Rs1.79 per unit refund for electricity consumers. The refund, under a negative fuel cost adjustment (FCA), will be reflected in September bills for electricity consumed in July.
According to Nepra’s notification, the authority approved a negative FCA of Rs1.7859/kWh for July 2025. This relief will apply to all categories of K-Electric and ex-Wapda distribution company (XWDiscos) consumers, except lifeline consumers, protected domestic consumers, prepaid users, and EV charging stations.
The adjustment will be listed separately in consumer bills. If any September bills have already been issued before the notification, the refund will be adjusted in the following month.
In addition, Nepra approved another relief of Rs0.78 per unit for K-Electric consumers, related to June 2025’s fuel cost variation. This benefit had already been passed on to ex-Wapda distribution company consumers.
Both refunds will appear in September bills, providing financial relief to millions of power users.
