Lahore, Sept 1 — YouTuber Saadur Rehman, widely known as Ducky Bhai, will remain in the custody of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) until September 3. A Lahore magistrate granted the agency a two-day extension in his physical remand on Monday. The extension follows the completion of a previous four-day remand that ended the same day.
Ducky Bhai was arrested on August 17 at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport while attempting to leave Pakistan. He is accused of promoting illegal gambling and betting applications such as 1xBet, Bet 365, B9 Game, and Binomo through his YouTube channel. Authorities claim he acted as a country manager for some of these platforms.
The case was filed by the state under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act and the Pakistan Penal Code. Charges include electronic fraud, forgery, spamming, and cheating. Officials say the investigation began in June after reliable sources reported several influencers were endorsing betting apps for profit, leading to public financial losses.
During Monday’s hearing, the investigating officer cited fresh evidence, including chats and foreign transactions found on the YouTuber’s seized devices. The officer argued that the forensic analysis supports the claims that Rehman promoted gambling apps and benefitted financially from them.
However, Ducky Bhai’s lawyer opposed the remand extension. He argued that bank transaction details could be obtained without further custody. The court, while directing the agency to speed up the investigation, ordered Ducky Bhai to be presented again on September 3.
