Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport saw the cancellation of five domestic flights on Friday, affecting passengers travelling to Lahore and Islamabad due to technical and operational issues, officials reported.
Airblue flight PA-200, scheduled to depart from Karachi to Islamabad, was among the cancelled flights. Passengers were informed at the airport and advised to contact the airline for alternative arrangements.
Three AirSial flights – PF125, PF143, and PF145 – were also cancelled. All were scheduled to fly from Karachi to Lahore, with airline officials citing technical problems as the reason for the disruptions.
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK-306, which was to depart from Karachi to New Islamabad International Airport (NIIA), also failed to take off, adding to the travel disruption for domestic passengers.
Airport authorities said that staff were working to resolve technical issues quickly, but passengers were advised to check flight updates and prepare for delays or rescheduling of their journeys.
Officials urged airlines to ensure timely communication with affected passengers, while travellers were reminded to verify flight status before heading to the airport to avoid inconvenience.
The cancellations highlight ongoing operational challenges at busy airports, emphasizing the need for preventive maintenance and effective coordination among airlines to minimize passenger disruptions during peak travel periods.
