
Islamabad: The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has scheduled a meeting on August 24 in Islamabad to sight the moon of Rabi-ul-Awwal 1447 Hijri. The meeting will be chaired by Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad and will include scholars, officials from the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Meteorological Department, and SUPARCO.
Alongside the central session, zonal and district moon sighting committees will hold meetings at their respective locations. Any credible moon sighting testimonies from these regions will be compiled to announce the official start of Rabi-ul-Awwal.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast the possibility of moon sighting on August 24. According to their data, the moon will be born on the morning of August 23 at 11:06 AM, and skies on the evening of August 24 are expected to be partly cloudy or clear. Therefore, the Islamic month of Rabi-ul-Awwal is likely to begin on Monday, August 25.
