Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, along with Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, visited flood-affected Swat to assess the destruction caused by recent heavy rains and flash floods.
The Prime Minister conducted an aerial survey over Buner and Shangla districts to evaluate the extent of damage, while federal ministers and the NDMA chairman accompanied him to coordinate relief efforts.
During his visit, the Prime Minister is set to meet flood victims in Swat and Buner, promising immediate support and personally reviewing the damages to ensure timely assistance reaches the affected communities.
Earlier, the Prime Minister chaired a review meeting in Islamabad, directing uninterrupted power supply for one week and ordering that financial assistance and essential relief items be distributed without delay.
The PDMA report revealed that flash floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa killed 465 people, injured 181 others, and damaged 782 homes, with Buner, Swat, Bajaur, Mansehra, and Shangla being the hardest-hit districts.
Meanwhile, NDMA delivered tents, blankets, generators, dewatering pumps, and medicines to Swat, Bajaur, and Mansehra, while the Pakistan Air Force airlifted 7 tonnes of relief goods to Gilgit-Baltistan and evacuated 75 stranded individuals.
