
Dubai celebrated Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day in a grand event held at the Dubai Exhibition Centre in Expo City. Over 60,000 people attended the gathering, which featured cultural performances and tributes to individuals from diverse sectors. The event was a powerful display of the strong bond between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Pakistan.
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE’s Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, were present at the ceremony. Speaking at the event, Sheikh Nahyan praised the resilience and identity of the Pakistani people and highlighted the importance of the UAE-Pakistan friendship. He emphasized the shared values and mutual respect that shape their longstanding relationship.
Organized by the Emirates Loves Pakistan platform, in partnership with the Pakistan Association Dubai and supported by Dubai Police, the celebration underscored the vibrant presence of the Pakistani community in the UAE. Sheikh Nahyan lauded the community’s contributions to the social and economic fabric of the country, calling them “vital to our shared success.”
As part of the ‘Year of Community’ initiative, Sheikh Nahyan also announced a national writing competition. Open to all UAE residents, the competition invites reflections on the theme “What the UAE Means to Me.” This initiative aims to strengthen unity and community engagement across the nation.
The UAE remains a key investor in Pakistan, particularly in real estate, telecom, IT, oil and gas, and tourism. With ongoing strategic cooperation in governance and development, both countries continue to build a future rooted in shared prosperity and friendship.
