Pakistan rejects India’s claims over Pahalgam attack

Pakistan strongly rejected India’s recent statements regarding the Pahalgam incident, calling them fabricated and misleading. The Foreign Office (FO) criticized Indian leaders for using aggressive rhetoric and attempting to distort facts without any proper investigation. Officials urged New Delhi to act responsibly and stop playing the roles of judge, jury, and executioner.

During a press briefing on Wednesday, FO spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan condemned remarks made in the Indian Parliament about the so-called “Operation Sindoor.” He said India’s statements were dangerous and aimed at glorifying conflict for domestic political gains. He emphasized that such narratives do not contribute to peace and regional stability.

Pakistan reiterated that India carried out airstrikes without any credible proof linking the Pahalgam attack to Pakistani elements. According to the FO, India’s actions on the night of May 6 and 7, 2025, led to the killing of innocent civilians, including women and children. These events, it said, highlight the recklessness of Indian military operations.

Despite India’s aggressive actions, Pakistan claimed it successfully defended its territory. The FO spokesperson stated that Pakistan’s armed forces neutralized Indian fighter jets and targets, calling it a “resounding success.” He added that India’s military objectives had failed entirely, both strategically and tactically.

The FO urged Indian leadership to accept the reality of their losses and acknowledge the role of third parties in maintaining ceasefires. It further advised Indian officials to shift focus from political drama to genuine diplomacy. This, Pakistan believes, is the only path to avoiding further escalation.

As tensions remain high, Pakistan’s stance reflects a call for truth, accountability, and restraint. The FO stated it would continue to share facts and defend the country’s sovereignty, while urging India to respect international norms and the value of civilian lives.
