
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif launched the Pak Business Express on Tuesday at Lahore Railway Station. The train will run between Lahore and Karachi. It will complete the journey in about 18.5 hours. The service includes modern ticketing systems, upgraded lounges, and European-style travel features. It aims to serve both elite and regular passengers.
While speaking at the launch, Shehbaz praised Federal Minister Hanif Abbasi. He credited him for reviving Pakistan Railways. He also acknowledged Khawaja Saad Rafique’s past contributions. These include upgrading stations and recovering railway land. The prime minister called the project a big step forward for the rail sector.
He then highlighted progress in foreign relations. He said Pakistan and China are working together on CPEC Phase II. He also mentioned efforts to improve ties with the United States. According to him, this marks a new chapter in Pak-US diplomacy. He believes these efforts will help Pakistan grow faster.
On the economy, Shehbaz said Pakistan is now on the right track. He mentioned a 5% drop in inflation. He also pointed to better economic indicators. He praised his team’s efforts for the recent success. He expects more economic growth in the coming months.
Shehbaz also spoke about national security. He said Pakistan’s nuclear assets protect peace. He praised the armed forces for their role in the May 9 incident. He called it a historic defeat for India. He even referenced Donald Trump’s claim about preventing a war. Shehbaz said the new train is just the beginning of railway reforms.
