Saudi Arabia has clearly stated that it will not normalize relations with Israel under the current conditions. The Kingdom demands the creation of a Palestinian state first. It also calls for a complete end to the ongoing war in Gaza. Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan made this statement in New York. He spoke after a joint international conference hosted by Saudi Arabia and France.
The conference focused on supporting a two-state solution for the Israel-Palestine conflict. Prince Faisal emphasized that recognizing Israel is not possible without justice for Palestinians. He said the path to peace begins with stopping the suffering in Gaza. He also noted that no talks on normalization can take place during violence. According to him, current conditions lack both logic and credibility for such discussions.
When asked about the Abraham Accords, Prince Faisal shared a hopeful view. He said recent international consensus could push things forward. He believes momentum is growing for a fair political solution. That, in turn, could reopen dialogue on normalization. But only if key conditions are met first.
Furthermore, he stressed the importance of ending Israeli attacks in Gaza. The humanitarian crisis there remains a top concern for Saudi Arabia. Without peace in Gaza, any diplomatic effort would fail. The Kingdom insists that real change must come before diplomacy. Otherwise, normalization talks are meaningless.
Saudi Arabia stands firm on its position. Peace must come before politics. First, the Gaza war must stop. Second, a Palestinian state must be created. Only then will Saudi Arabia consider recognizing Israel. Until that happens, the Kingdom says it will not change its stance.
