The Pakistan-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) has proposed setting up dedicated “China desks” in key public institutions to ease investment processes for Chinese businesses. This move aims to strengthen industrial cooperation under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
These “China desks” will offer Chinese investors centralized support, including regulatory guidance, project assistance, and business services. The initiative is designed to reduce delays in approvals and increase investor confidence in Pakistan’s business environment.
PCJCCI President Nazir Hussain highlighted the chamber’s commitment to deepening industrial ties between Pakistan and China. He said the chamber will act as a vital platform to support Chinese investments and foster mutual economic growth.
The proposal aligns with Pakistan’s goal to modernize its industries and attract foreign investment. The chamber also discussed joint ventures in sectors like renewable energy, electric vehicles, and agro-processing, emphasizing innovation hubs and pilot projects for sustainable development.
Secretary General Salahuddin Hanif stressed the importance of coordination among various institutions to ensure smooth implementation. He noted that PCJCCI is working on joint working groups, policy roundtables, and matchmaking sessions to support businesses on both sides.
Overall, PCJCCI aims to be a strong bridge between Pakistani and Chinese industries, promoting sustainable growth, technology transfer, and long-term economic cooperation between the two countries.
