“I’m still 16”: Aina Asif calls out trolls targeting her appearance

Published on: July 17, 2025 6:03 PM

Aina Asif, the 16-year-old star of Parwarish, opened up about the harsh reality of online trolling in a recent interview. She revealed how people often forget her real age and judge her based on how she looks, not who she is. “No matter how I dress, I’m still a kid,” Aina said, urging critics to stop mocking her appearance. Despite her young age, she handles public pressure with maturity and self-awareness.

Aina began acting at 14, playing difficult roles like a teen mother in Mayi Ri. She now plays Maya in Parwarish, a character she relates to deeply. Maya’s emotional connection with her mother reflects Aina’s real-life bond with her own mom. This connection helped her bring authenticity to the screen and made her role more personal and powerful.

However, not all roles came easy for Aina. She admitted struggling emotionally while playing Aini, a teenage mother, at just 14. Holding a crying baby on set overwhelmed her. But with guidance from her director, she began to understand the deeper pain many girls her age experience in real life. That realization stayed with her and made her more empathetic.

Though she enjoys acting, Aina feels the toll of being a public figure so young. She maintains personal boundaries, avoids certain scenes, and limits how much of her life she shares. Aina tries to stay unaffected by online hate but admits it still hurts sometimes. However, she chooses to focus on her work and ignore unnecessary negativity.

Aina had a clear message for trolls. “If you don’t like me, don’t watch me,” she said. She urged people to value actors for their talent, not judge them by appearance. As she continues to grow in her career, Aina remains grounded, honest, and determined to protect her peace while doing what she loves most — acting.
