A large-scale online fraud network involving more than 100 people has been uncovered in Basti Mandurin, a locality in Khangarh, Muzaffargarh. Despite video evidence of armed activity and public complaints, police have failed to act against the influential perpetrators.
According to residents, a group led by Aslam, Arif, and Shoaib has been operating an international online fraud racket from a house in the area. The gang has also been accused of brutal violence against a poor local family. The family of driver Ghulam Yesisan claims they have been repeatedly assaulted and threatened with weapons. Women and children were reportedly tortured, and there are also serious allegations of rape.
Yesterday, a young man from the victim’s family was reportedly robbed and nearly shot in broad daylight, but his life was spared when the assailant’s pistol jammed. Despite several complaints, the local police have taken no action. A video showing gang members brandishing weapons has also surfaced.
The affected family has protested against police inaction and demanded that DPO Muzaffargarh Dr Rizwan Khan take urgent notice and ensure justice
