PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar announced that a nationwide political movement, launched on Imran Khan’s call, is already underway and will reach its high point on August 5. Speaking outside Adiala Jail, he clarified KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s recent “90 days” comment, saying it wasn’t a warning but a general observation that “something will happen” in that time.
Gohar defended Gandapur, calling him one of Imran Khan’s most trusted aides, managing both party and provincial matters. He dismissed reports of infighting within PTI, stating that differences had been resolved internally after speaking with party members including Aalia Hamza and Sheikh Waqas Akram. “Big political parties often have internal debates, but there is no split,” he said.
Responding to JUI-F leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s remarks, Gohar stated that PTI takes no dictation and stands firm on its decisions. He said personal likes and dislikes shouldn’t affect leadership, adding that some people may have issues with Gandapur, but party decisions are made for the larger political mission, not individuals.
He strongly denied allegations that PTI plans violence. “We are not a guerrilla force,” Gohar emphasized. “We believe in peaceful political struggle, not street warfare. The government’s overreaction is just political drama.” He warned that keeping Imran Khan and PTI leaders sidelined would only worsen political tensions.
On Senate elections, Gohar declared that Imran Khan personally finalized all candidate names. He also dismissed circulating lists in the media as fake. “If I meet the chairman again, we’ll finalize a few remaining details,” he added, reiterating PTI’s commitment to following proper procedures despite current challenges.
