Gold prices in Pakistan surged on Monday, following an upward trend in the international market. According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of 24-karat gold per tola rose by Rs1,600, hitting Rs359,700 in the local market.
The price of 10 grams of gold also increased by Rs1,371, reaching Rs308,384. This marks a continued rise in the domestic market, as gold gained Rs1,100 per tola just two days ago, on Saturday, bringing the price then to Rs358,100.
The rise mirrors global gold prices, which also saw gains on Monday. According to APGJSA, the international price of gold reached $3,372 per ounce, including a $20 premium, after increasing by $16 during the day.
Silver prices followed suit, climbing in the local market. The rate of silver per tola increased by Rs65, now selling at Rs4,087. The 10-gram silver rate also went up accordingly, as demand remained strong.
Analysts say the price surge reflects both global market trends and domestic demand amid ongoing economic uncertainty. Traders are watching international developments closely, as rising precious metal prices affect investment choices and inflation outlook.
