Pakistan’s T20I captain Salman Ali Agha recently opened up in a fun and revealing interview with the PCB, where he shared behind-the-scenes moments, his secret talent, and film casting ideas featuring his teammates.
Since becoming captain earlier this year, Agha has shown strong leadership skills on the field and a great sense of humor off it. He playfully imagined Babar Azam as the hero in a movie, while Haris Rauf, with his aggressive bowling style, would be perfect as the villain.
Agha described pacer Hasan Ali as the team’s comedian and said Abdullah Shafique could easily play a romantic character. He cheekily cast Fakhar Zaman as a singer in a musical, highlighting the fun team spirit in the dressing room.
Reflecting on his personal life, Agha admitted he’d probably be a businessman if he weren’t a cricketer. He even joked about wanting to delete all social media if he had the power. Agha also shared his love for poetry, quoting Allama Iqbal to show his deeper, more thoughtful side.
When talking about his teammates’ habits, Agha revealed that Saim Ayub struggles when he’s hungry, while Shadab Khan never says no to food. Interestingly, it’s often Babar Azam who ends up paying the bill when the team eats out together.
Adding a personal touch, Agha said he misses the freedom he had before marriage but is happy with his one marriage. He also shared funny nicknames like “No-look-shot” for Saim Ayub, “Chowda” for Saud Shakeel, “Bobby” for Babar, and “Fauji” for Fakhar. In clutch situations, he said he would trust Hasan Nawaz to hit six off the last ball, praising his PSL performances.
