Minister of State for Law and Justice, Barrister Aqeel Malik, has said that the sons of the PTI founder cannot participate in Pakistani politics because they are British nationals. He emphasized that their foreign nationality and visa status do not allow any involvement in political activities under Pakistani law.
Speaking on Wednesday, Barrister Aqeel accused PTI of trying to gain public sympathy by “playing the children card.” He added that instead of engaging in dialogue, the party continues to follow a confrontational path, as seen during the May 9 events.
He made it clear that while there is no objection to the children visiting Pakistan, their stay would be closely monitored by the Ministry of Interior. Authorities will ensure that their activities remain within the legal limits.
“If they come with intentions to disrupt political stability or take part in illegal political actions, the law will take its course,” the minister warned. He stressed that no one, regardless of status, will be allowed to break the law.
Moreover, Barrister Aqeel urged political parties to avoid dragging family members into political debates. He said such tactics are meant to distract from real issues and mislead the public for sympathy and support.
