The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) has rolled out a fresh set of initiatives for FY 2025-26 aimed at boosting the country’s exports and strengthening its presence in global markets. These steps include participation in over 120 international exhibitions, export training programs, and “Made in Pakistan” exhibitions in Ethiopia and Bangladesh.
The initiatives were approved during TDAP’s 12th board meeting held in Islamabad, chaired by Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan. Senior government officials and board members reviewed plans to improve trade facilitation, support entrepreneurs, and target new global markets.
To improve regional trade infrastructure, the board approved new facilities such as display centers, conference rooms, and IT accelerators in TDAP’s regional offices. Special centers for sports goods and surgical instruments will be established in Sialkot, while Quetta will receive expanded trade promotion spaces.
The board also emphasized increasing women’s participation in global trade events and endorsed support programs to promote their involvement. These efforts aim to make Pakistan’s export sector more inclusive and diverse in the long run.
Moreover, the commerce minister proposed hiring dedicated researchers to conduct sector-specific studies and generate actionable insights. These research-driven efforts will guide policy decisions and help TDAP respond to shifting global trade demands more effectively.
In conclusion, the board approved enhanced promotional support for Pakistan’s foreign trade missions and welcomed recommendations from TDAP’s sub-committees. The overall strategy reflects a strong push to diversify export destinations and transform TDAP into a modern, export-oriented institution.
