
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will leave for a two-day official visit to Azerbaijan on July 3 to participate in the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Summit. The summit will be held in Baku from July 3 to 4, bringing together leaders from member countries to discuss regional development and cooperation.
ECO is a regional intergovernmental organization focused on promoting economic, technical, and cultural cooperation among its members in Central Asia, South Asia, and the Middle East.
During the summit, PM Sharif will present Pakistan’s perspective on critical regional and global challenges, including economic growth, climate change, and security. He will also reaffirm Pakistan’s commitment to the ECO Vision 2025 initiative, which aims to foster sustainable development, enhance regional trade, and improve transport and energy connectivity.
PM Sharif is expected to push for stronger collaboration among member states in areas like infrastructure projects, energy resource sharing, and addressing climate change impacts. The summit will also offer opportunities for the Prime Minister to hold bilateral meetings with other heads of state and government to discuss shared interests and expand Pakistan’s economic and diplomatic ties.
This visit highlights Pakistan’s strategic intent to deepen regional partnerships and play an active role in addressing climate challenges and boosting economic cooperation within the ECO framework.
