According to the Balochistan government, the terrorists also set three vehicles ablaze and torched vital documents at the Tehsil office. They looted bank cash and records, further intensifying the panic in the area. The injured were rushed to Ghaus Bakhsh Raisani Hospital for emergency treatment.
Responding swiftly, security forces including the Frontier Corps (FC), Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), and Levies surrounded the area and launched a gun battle with the attackers. Two terrorists were killed during the operation, and three others were critically injured. The area was later cleared in a coordinated security sweep.
Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind confirmed the successful neutralization of the attackers and praised the security forces for their rapid and effective response. He added that intelligence-based operations are ongoing to track down remaining militants and their facilitators to protect civilians from further harm.
This incident comes amid a sharp rise in terrorist attacks across Pakistan, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, following the collapse of the ceasefire with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in late 2022. The Global Terrorism Index 2025 ranks Pakistan as the second most affected country, with 1,081 terrorism-related deaths recorded in the past year.
The Mastung attack adds to growing concerns over the security situation in Pakistan’s southwestern region. Authorities have pledged to enhance counter-terrorism measures and continue efforts to dismantle terror networks operating in the area.
