Haier, Alkhidmat bring clean water to Tharparkar

Published on: June 29, 2025 1:56 AM

Haier Pakistan has officially signed an MOU with Alkhidmat Foundation to install solar submersible water pumps in the remote region of Tharparkar, marking a meaningful step forward in Haier’s ongoing CSR efforts. In this powerful collaboration, both organizations have come together to tackle one of the region’s most pressing challenges: access to clean, drinkable water. The initiative will deliver solar-powered water plants designed to serve some of the most water-deprived communities in the country, offering sustainable relief where it’s needed most.

Empowering Communities Through Water

Water scarcity in Tharparkar is more than a statistic. It’s a daily struggle that affects health, hygiene, education, and livelihood. Recognizing this critical need, Haier’s water well initiative is not just about installing water plants, it’s about restoring dignity, wellbeing, and opportunity in areas long forgotten by mainstream development.

Each solar-powered water plant taps into underground water reserves, converting them into safe, accessible drinking water for thousands of residents. It’s a solution built for endurance. It’s sustainable, low maintenance, and designed to withstand the harsh climate of the region.

Technology with a Purpose

Haier’s innovation has always centered around enhancing lives, from smart homes to sustainable living. This project extends that vision to communities who need it the most. Using solar energy not only ensures an uninterrupted water supply but also aligns with Haier’s ongoing commitment to green energy and eco-conscious solutions.

Uplifting Lives, One Drop at a Time

The impact of these water wells reaches beyond hydration. Children are able to go to school instead of fetching water, families can maintain hygiene, and communities experience a new standard of living. The ripple effect is profound, creating a pathway to better health and socio-economic resilience in Tharparkar.

A Long-Term Commitment to Sustainable Change

This initiative reflects Haier’s belief that true innovation must serve humanity. By addressing one of Pakistan’s most urgent issues with a sustainable, long-term approach, Haier and Alkhidmat Foundation are working together to create real, measurable change, and this journey is only just beginning.
