Iran launched multiple ballistic missiles at the US-run Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar on Monday. The strike followed Tehran’s vow to retaliate against US air raids on Iranian nuclear sites over the weekend.
A US defense official confirmed the attack but reported no American casualties. “Al Udeid was targeted with short- and medium-range missiles from Iran,” the official said. “There are no known US casualties at this time.”
The missile strike caused explosions near the Qatari capital, Doha. The blast sounds came shortly after Iran had issued threats of retaliation, raising concerns in the region.
Despite the tension, US forces remained on high alert. The Pentagon is monitoring the situation closely, while allied personnel also took precautionary measures during the strike.
