Contacts between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the establishment have reportedly stalled due to recent political developments and statements from party leadership. Sources say that anticipated progress after Eid was disrupted following remarks by PTI founder Imran Khan and other key party figures.
One major factor behind the pause in communication was PTI-led protests in the United States. According to insiders, the demonstrations caused serious displeasure among government officials, establishment circles, and even some within PTI’s own ranks who viewed the move as damaging.
PTI members have acknowledged that the absence of a unified strategy within the party is a key reason why critical issues remain unresolved. Disagreements and uncoordinated statements have made dialogue difficult.
Before Eid, a brief exchange reportedly took place between senior government figures and PTI’s chairman, Barrister Gohar Khan. That contact marked the first direct communication since November 26 but did not result in any formal negotiation.
Gohar Khan has said that PTI remains open to meaningful talks, provided they are serious and solution-oriented. He stressed that both sides have individuals whose statements or actions have acted as barriers to restoring trust and dialogue.
