Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, warned India to honour the Indus Waters Treaty. He said if India refuses, Pakistan will wage another war — and this time, all six rivers will belong to Pakistan.
Bilawal returned from diplomatic visits to the US and Europe and was warmly welcomed in Karachi. Addressing supporters, he said India tried to defeat Pakistan on the diplomatic front after losing militarily. However, he claimed Pakistan won the diplomatic battle too, as global media supported Pakistan’s narrative.
He praised Pakistan’s armed forces for shooting down six Indian fighter jets in the recent conflict. Bilawal slammed former PM Imran Khan’s weak response to India’s past aggression and said PPP leaders had responded strongly during the latest escalation. He credited PPP for raising Kashmir’s voice and defending the Indus River internationally.
Bilawal accused India of using the river dispute as an excuse to target the PPP. He called his political rivals “orphans” for staying silent on India’s attacks on Sindh’s water. He vowed to expose India and continue to defend Pakistan’s water rights, saying PPP would not let India suspend the treaty unchallenged.
Referring to the visit of Army Chief General Asim Munir to the White House, Bilawal asked, “Would the US invite a general from a country supporting terrorism?” He said this proved Pakistan was on the winning side. He concluded by saying the Indus is a matter of life and death for Pakistan, and if India forces war, Pakistan will fight back.
