Fearing Iran’s response, US pulls jets from Qatar airbase

The United States has removed its fighter jets from Al Udeid Airbase in Qatar amid fears of an Iranian counterattack. Satellite images show that while several aircraft were stationed there before the Iran-Israel conflict, the airbase is now empty. This move reflects Washington’s concerns over a possible Iranian strike in response to rising tensions.

According to US officials who spoke to Reuters on the condition of anonymity, the jets were at risk of being targeted by Iran. They confirmed that aircraft were moved from the Al Udeid base as a precaution. This base, located near Doha, is the largest US airbase in the Middle East and has played a key role in regional operations.

In addition to relocating jets, the US has also withdrawn some of its naval vessels from the Middle East. The US Embassy in Qatar has temporarily restricted its staff from accessing the airbase for safety reasons. These moves indicate serious concern within US defense circles about the risk of regional escalation.

Al Udeid Airbase has long been central to American military operations in the region. Established in 1996, it houses nearly 10,000 US troops and serves as the forward headquarters of CENTCOM. The base has been a strategic hub for operations in Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan.

The Iran-Israel conflict has already raised alarm across the globe. The US military’s decision to reposition its forces shows that Washington is preparing for all possible scenarios. As tensions continue to rise, regional players are bracing for further instability in the Middle East.
