
RAWALPINDI – Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir stated that Pakistan has made tremendous sacrifices in the global war against terrorism and continues to stand at the forefront of peace efforts. During his official visit to the United States, he met scholars, analysts, policy experts, and international media representatives in Washington, D.C., where major regional and global issues were discussed.
According to the Pakistan Army’s media wing (ISPR), Field Marshal Munir highlighted Pakistan’s firm commitment to regional peace and stability. He spoke about the country’s efforts in fighting terrorism, including the “Battle for Truth” and Operation Bunyān Marsūs, showing Pakistan’s proactive stance against all forms of extremism.
He also expressed concern over certain regional elements that sponsor terrorism under the cover of hybrid warfare. He emphasized that these tactics threaten global peace and require a united response from the international community.
Furthermore, Field Marshal Munir reviewed the longstanding ties between Pakistan and the United States. He called for broad-based relations built on shared strategic goals and economic cooperation, stressing the need for collaboration in areas like counterterrorism, security, and development.
He also encouraged global partners to invest in Pakistan’s growing sectors such as information technology, agriculture, minerals, and natural resources. According to ISPR, he pointed out that Pakistan offers immense potential for joint growth and prosperity.
Participants praised Field Marshal Munir for clearly presenting Pakistan’s position and appreciated the country’s consistent and principled policies. The meeting reflected Pakistan’s transparent diplomacy and its desire for peaceful coexistence in a rapidly changing world.
