Iran arrests 28 Mossad agents in Tehran after busting Israeli spy network

TEHRAN – Iran’s security forces have arrested 28 individuals linked to an Israeli operational team in Tehran, marking one of the largest single crackdowns on alleged Mossad agents to date. According to Tehran Times, Iranian authorities conducted a major intelligence operation and dismantled a network believed to be working directly for Mossad, Israel’s national intelligence agency. All 28 suspects were taken into custody early Monday.

This crackdown comes amid rising tensions between Tehran and Tel Aviv, following days of cross-border strikes and growing fears of regional escalation. The arrests are part of a wider security sweep that began over the weekend.

Notably, Iranian officials confirmed that an Israeli spy was executed earlier in the day, further highlighting the growing hostility and the seriousness of espionage cases currently under investigation.

Officials described the arrested group as part of a “critical operational team” working against Iranian interests. While details remain limited, the number of agents captured in this single operation is reportedly the highest so far.

As the conflict deepens, Iran has vowed to continue its efforts to root out foreign intelligence threats. Authorities say additional arrests are expected as investigations unfold across multiple provinces.
