SUJAWAL – The Sindh Taraqipasand Party (STP) on Sunday held a protest rally in Sujawal to demand action against the growing drug trade and severe electricity load-shedding affecting the region. The rally, led by the STP Sujawal chapter, started from Mamoon Laddu Chowk and ended at Public Park. A large number of party workers, local leaders, and concerned citizens joined in, chanting strong slogans against drug dealers and electricity outages.
During the gathering, key STP figures including Juman Sindhi, Abdul Ghani Mallah, Mumtaz Laghari, and others addressed the crowd. They expressed alarm over the increasing drug addiction among youth, blaming the easy availability of substances like heroin, ice, mawa, and Indian gutka.
Moreover, the leaders slammed law enforcement agencies for turning a blind eye to the open sale of narcotics. They alleged that drug dealers operate freely without any fear of accountability, endangering young lives and public safety.
In addition, the protestors voiced frustration over frequent, unannounced power cuts during extreme heat. They accused HESCO officials of negligence and warned that if the situation doesn’t improve, they would launch a broader protest and besiege HESCO offices.
STP leaders concluded by urging authorities to take immediate steps against both drug networks and the power crisis. They said failure to act would result in intensified demonstrations throughout the region.
