“If we don’t unite today, all will suffer”: Khawaja Asif on Israel conflict

Published on: June 14, 2025 1:32 PM

Defense Minister Khawaja Asif strongly called on all Muslim countries to unite and stand against Israel’s recent attacks. Speaking during a National Assembly session chaired by Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, he warned that if Muslim nations remain divided and silent, they will all eventually suffer the consequences. He stressed that the current conflict between Israel and Iran is not just a regional issue but a test for the entire Muslim world’s unity.

Asif explained that Israel’s recent strikes targeted Iranian military installations and killed senior military leaders. He said Israel is not acting alone in this aggression. Pakistan shares a deep historical relationship with Iran and stands firmly with its neighbor in these difficult times. The Defense Minister assured that Pakistan will protect Iranian interests and treat their pain as its own, emphasizing that Iran is a brotherly country.

He urged the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to hold an emergency meeting to address the crisis. Asif criticized Muslim countries for their silence while Israel continues its attacks on Yemen, Iran, and Palestine. He pointed out that protests against Israel are growing worldwide, especially among non-Muslim populations, while many Muslim nations remain quiet. He called for a strong, united voice from the Muslim world against Israel’s aggression.

Asif reaffirmed Pakistan’s firm stance of not recognizing Israel or having diplomatic relations. Although some people of Pakistani origin recently traveled to Israel, the government does not support these visits. He also condemned Muslim countries maintaining ties with Israel, saying such relations must be cut immediately. He urged Muslim nations to create a unified strategy to confront and counter Israel’s violent actions, which he said are stained with the blood of Muslims.

Additionally, Khawaja Asif touched on India’s recent military attacks against Pakistan. He stated that India paid a heavy price and suffered major humiliation internationally due to Pakistan’s strong defense and the will of its people. He accused banned groups like the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) of working as agents for India. Asif warned that anyone supporting these groups is a traitor and must be treated accordingly.
