Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab urged all political parties to work together for the city’s progress. He stressed that unity is vital to tackle Karachi’s growing challenges. Wahab formally requested Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to release Rs100 billion for urgent development projects in the city. He believes this funding will help solve key issues like infrastructure, health, and sports.
Wahab laid the foundation stone for a new sports complex in Baldia Town. The project, costing over Rs1 billion, will be completed in six months. Covering 25 acres, the complex will feature football fields, courts, and training facilities. This is part of a broader effort to promote youth engagement and healthy lifestyles in Karachi.
He also vowed to fulfill promises made by Pakistan Peoples Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto to develop Karachi. Wahab said these projects reflect a serious commitment to improving the city’s infrastructure and public services. He mentioned that the sports complex and other initiatives will help boost Karachi’s social and economic growth.
In addition to sports, Wahab highlighted improvements in healthcare across the city. He stated that better medical facilities are being set up to meet citizens’ needs. This balanced focus on sports, health, and infrastructure shows a comprehensive plan for Karachi’s future.
Finally, Wahab emphasized that political cooperation is crucial for Karachi’s success. He urged the federal government to quickly release the Rs100 billion fund. According to him, timely funding combined with joint efforts can bring positive, lasting change to Karachi.
