Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has called on citizens, especially the youth, to actively donate blood. She highlighted that every drop of blood is precious and can save lives during emergencies. She urged everyone to support this noble cause to help patients in critical need across the province.
Punjab recently launched Pakistan’s first Virtual Blood Bank Centre, marking a new era of digitized health services. This system aims to provide faster, reliable, and better-quality blood donation services. Maryam Nawaz said this technology will raise the standard of healthcare and save countless lives.
Patients who need blood can call the Emergency Helpline 15 anytime. Officers from the Safe City Authority collect important details such as the patient’s location and blood group. They then quickly contact registered donors nearby through conference calls to arrange prompt blood donations.
To ensure safety and smooth coordination, police officers assist during the donation process. Blood donors can register easily by calling Helpline 15, visiting the Safe City Authority website, or registering at Police Khidmat counters located in government hospitals throughout Punjab.
This innovative system brings hope to patients facing urgent blood shortages. The Chief Minister expressed her hope that many citizens, especially young people, will join this life-saving initiative and help strengthen Punjab’s healthcare system.
