The Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) promised to share its inquiry report on alleged O/A level paper leaks after June 16. This assurance came during a meeting with the National Assembly’s education subcommittee, chaired by MNA Sabheen Ghoury. CAIE’s Country Director Uzma Yousuf said the ongoing investigation will clarify the situation soon.
During the session, MNA Mohammad Ali Sarfraz presented evidence of multiple leaked papers, including paper codes and videos. The committee vowed to protect students’ interests and demanded immediate retakes if leaks are confirmed. They also emphasized the need for timely exam results by August.
The subcommittee plans to hear from school heads and the British Council, which also conducts O/A level exams. This investigation aims to review CAIE’s authority, exam frequency, student numbers, and exam costs in Pakistan. It will also examine past responses to leaks and suggest safeguards for the future.
This inquiry follows serious concerns raised by the main committee led by MNA Dr Azimuddin Zahid Lakhvi. The committee highlighted that paper leaks threaten the academic futures of many students. It urged swift action to protect the integrity of the Cambridge exams in Pakistan.
Meanwhile, CAIE stated it is investigating all evidence thoroughly. They acknowledged fake information on social media but avoided commenting on specific allegations during the exam season. Their goal remains to ensure fair results and restore student confidence.
