
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met with Liu Jianchao, the Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC), in Beijing. The Chinese minister led a delegation during the meeting. Both sides discussed ways to improve ties between their political parties and agreed to strengthen long-term cooperation.
Ishaq Dar praised China for always supporting Pakistan’s sovereignty and core national interests. He said China has stood by Pakistan in tough times. Dar also thanked the Chinese government for its continued support at regional and international levels. He stressed the importance of further deepening the Pakistan-China friendship.
In response, Minister Liu Jianchao called Pakistan China’s “iron brother.” He said that China gives high priority to its relationship with Pakistan. He also reaffirmed that China would keep supporting Pakistan on key political, economic, and security matters. The meeting reflected strong mutual trust and respect between the two countries.
Officials noted that Ishaq Dar is expected to meet his Chinese counterpart later today. This meeting will cover key topics like regional peace, recent Pakistan-India tensions, and economic collaboration. It is part of Pakistan’s efforts to boost diplomatic ties and ensure regional stability.
In addition, a trilateral foreign ministers’ meeting is planned between Pakistan, China, and Afghanistan. The aim is to discuss peace, trade, and counter-terrorism cooperation in the region. This visit marks another step in maintaining close coordination between Islamabad and Beijing on both bilateral and regional issues.
