DG ISPR: After Allah, self-reliance is key, Pakistan will never bow down

Published on: May 20, 2025 4:09 PM

Director-General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif, stated that after Allah, the most reliance is on oneself, and the Pakistani nation has never bowed down nor will it ever bow.

In an interview with the Chinese media group, the military spokesperson emphasized that Pakistan’s strength lies in its self-reliance, which is the most important factor for the country. He mentioned that when Pakistan’s resolve is strong, the international community also plays its role.

He further pointed out that all countries across the world are facing significant challenges, with the global focus now on humanity’s progress. The world is grappling with issues like climate change and population growth. In such a situation, he questioned whether one country should unjustifiably attack another with false narratives and no evidence, or try to impose its monopoly over neighboring countries.

Talking about the situation between Pakistan and India, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif stated that Pakistan’s nation has never bowed down in the past and will never do so in the future. He reiterated his previous statement, saying that Pakistan’s desire for martyrdom is greater than life itself.

He emphasized that Pakistan’s first priority is peace, and that peace is celebrated in the streets of Pakistan today. Both Pakistan and China are striving for peace and stability in the region. He also mentioned that Pakistan is combating the scourge of terrorism, which aims to hinder development.

DG ISPR added that China’s rapid development is a model that the world should observe, and the people of Pakistan also aspire for development and stability. He highlighted the unity in Pakistan, where the people, armed forces, and all sectors work together as one. He expressed confidence that this united front will help steer the country towards progress and prosperity, despite the challenges posed by terrorism.
