KARACHI – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Karachi on a one-day visit to pay tribute to the Pakistan Navy for its outstanding role in defending the country during Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos. The visit reflects the government’s appreciation for the armed forces’ commitment and bravery.
Upon arrival at the airport, the prime minister was warmly received by Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, and senior government and military officials. Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf will officially welcome PM Shehbaz during his visit to the naval headquarters.
During his stay, the prime minister will meet and address officers and sailors of the Pakistan Navy. He is expected to commend their courage and resilience in countering enemy aggression through maritime routes, recognizing their efforts as a crucial part of national defense.
Following the naval engagements, PM Shehbaz will meet Karachi’s political leadership for consultations on key national matters. Discussions will include the upcoming federal budget, development projects in Sindh, and strategies to improve revenue collection.
Federal ministers accompanying the prime minister include Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, and Information Minister Attaullah Tarar. Their presence underscores the importance of coordination between the central government and provincial stakeholders.
The visit highlights the government’s focus on strengthening both national defense and economic development, while also reinforcing the message of unity and recognition for those serving on the frontlines.
