Pakistan’s Defense Minister, Khawaja Asif, praised the country’s armed forces for successfully thwarting India’s aggression. Speaking to the media at his residence in Sialkot, Asif claimed that India had brought large aircraft to attack Pakistan, which were “cut like kites” by the Pakistani military. He emphasized the strength and resilience of Pakistan’s forces in defending the country against foreign threats.
Khawaja Asif also expressed gratitude for the solidarity shown by students who visited his residence, calling their actions a touching expression of patriotism. He reflected on the critical moment of May 10, which he described as a turning point in the nation’s history. The defense minister congratulated the leadership of the armed forces and praised Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif for his steady leadership during the crisis.
Asif reiterated that the government is fully committed to standing by the military in the defense of the nation, emphasizing that the unity within Pakistan has been restored. He said that any necessary steps will be taken to ensure the safety and security of the country. According to Asif, Pakistan has successfully defeated India on the eastern borders, and with the same strength, they will achieve success on the western front as well.
In his remarks, Asif also reflected on the broader implications for India, stating that while India faced defeat at the hands of Pakistani forces, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was now “licking his wounds,” highlighting Pakistan’s military triumph in the face of aggression.
