Pakistan’s defence minister Khawaja Asif criticizes India’s false narratives amid ongoing conflict

Published on: May 9, 2025 2:45 PM

Pakistan’s Defence Minister, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, has strongly condemned India’s ongoing false narratives regarding the recent military confrontations between the two nations. Speaking to the media outside the Parliament House, Asif stated that India is facing setbacks on multiple fronts but is misleading its public by portraying a different image. He emphasized that India would not disclose to its citizens the extent of its challenges, including the downing of its advanced Rafale jets by Pakistan’s air force.

Asif further clarified that Pakistan has consistently targeted only military installations, avoiding harm to civilian areas. He reassured the Pakistani public that the armed forces are effectively safeguarding the nation’s security. His comments come in the wake of escalating tensions, including India’s missile strikes on Pakistani territory, which resulted in civilian casualties.

The Defence Minister also highlighted Pakistan’s success in intercepting numerous Indian drones, asserting that these actions are part of the country’s right to defend its sovereignty. He called on the international community to recognize Pakistan’s efforts to protect its borders and maintain regional stability.

In response to India’s Operation Sindoor, which targeted alleged militant sites in Pakistan, Asif reiterated that Pakistan does not support terrorism and has taken steps to counter such threats. He accused India of using the operation as a pretext for aggression and warned of potential retaliation if provocations continue.

As the situation remains tense, Pakistan continues to monitor developments closely, emphasizing the importance of dialogue and diplomacy to resolve conflicts and prevent further escalation.
