MIRPUR KHAS: As many as 292,626 children under five years of age would be given anti-polio vaccine during the national campaign in Mirpurkhas district. Deputy Commissioner Zahil Ali Memon informed the media that the three-day campaign would begin on May 15, to 18, May 2017. Mirprukhas Deputy Commissioner Zahid Memon Presided over a meeting of the Divisional Polio Task Force to review and discuss in detail the arrangements for the 4-day Anti Polio Campaign here at Darbar Hall on Friday DC Directed the Health Officers of the division that an all out effort should be made to administer the oral polio drops to 0-5 year age children in the Anti Polio Campaign in the national interest. He further stated that the authorities should make sure people have to take every possible measure to achieve the set target of vaccination, adding negligence would not be tolerated and the responsible would be punished. He said in order to convince the parents who refused their children for vaccination, services of the elected representatives should be utilized. He also emphasized that officers should visit each and every Union council and arranged meetings with local people to participate in this national cause.
