U.S. President Donald Trump has strongly condemned India’s missile attacks on Pakistani territory, describing the act as “shameful” and expressing concern over the dangerous escalation between the two nuclear-armed neighbors. Speaking to reporters at the Oval Office, Trump said, “It’s shameful what we’re hearing right now — that India launched attacks on Pakistan. These two countries have had their differences for decades, but this kind of military action endangers the entire region.” He emphasized the need for immediate de-escalation and urged both sides to show restraint. Trump’s comments follow India’s missile strikes on five Pakistani cities, which reportedly targeted civilian populations and places of worship, including mosques. The attacks killed two innocent civilians and injured several others. The targeted areas include Kotli, Muzaffarabad, Bagh, Muridke, and Ahmadpur Sharqiya. In response, the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) launched a swift counterattack, downing two Indian fighter jets and putting the country’s air defenses on full alert. Pakistan’s leadership has convened an emergency National Security Committee meeting to coordinate its next steps. Trump’s statement is one of the first significant international reactions, signaling growing global concern about the rapidly deteriorating situation in South Asia.
