HYDERABAD: Youth, volunteers and progressive people of Umerkot organised a 3-day ‘share and care’ campaign for the deprived during Diwali celebrations. We have so far donated more than 2,000 dresses and 500 shoes for men, women and children. It was not just about donating clothes but we were trying to light a candle of hope, the convenors of the drive said. Bharat Bansi Malhi, convenor of share and care drive, said they had taken first steps by having a wall of kindness, where people highlighted the message of this campaign on a wall and engaged youth on Diwali in such a campaign. He said the drive to provide basic necessities to people would continue. Published in Daily Times, October 22nd 2017.
