Muhammad Saqib, a promising fighter from Karachi, has made Pakistan proud by winning a Gold medal at the GAMMA World Championship 2024. Saqib competed in both the senior and U-18 categories, and his victory comes as a significant achievement for Pakistan in mixed martial arts (MMA). The championship, which is being held in Indonesia from December 8-14, 2024, features fighters from 78 countries. Saqib was the only Pakistani fighter competing in the U-18 category. His journey to the Gold involved defeating strong opponents, including Maksym Shyshkhanyah from Ukraine in the semifinals and Akezhan Magperov from Kazakhstan in the final. Saquib trains at the Badshah Wushu MMA Academy in Bhakar Goth, Karachi, under the guidance of his coach Imran Qasim. His remarkable victory reflects the growing talent in Pakistan’s MMA scene. The event, which includes both senior and U-18 fights, will continue through December 14. The official ceremony will take place on December 10, marking the conclusion of the U-18s competition.
