SHIKARPUR: The sports festival 2017 organized by Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Shikarpur concludes on Monday. Several games including badminton, Malakhro, Kodi Kodi, Karate, Cycling, Cricket, Body Building, Athletics, Squash, Hockey, Wanjhwati, Wrestling and Weight Lifting were played during the festival. Abid Khan Bhayo, the Special Assistant to Chief Minister Sindh for Sports and Youth Affairs, and PPP MPA Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh inaugurated the sports week at Shahi Bagh, on 27th April. Speaking on the occasion both the PPP leaders and other notable said that sports is very important for youths to maintain their health and urged over youths to play sport for healthy life while a healthy nation proves a wealthy nation and history shows that sportsmen who excelled in the field in sports could prove their worth in every filed. Abdul Wahab Kagzi, the organizer of sports festival, said that sports should be made compulsory right from the primary classes while children from their beginning should be realized the games and drills from primary level. Eijaz Ahmed Khokhar, the District Officer Sports, hailed the efforts of players and said urged over parents of the players that they should take care proper training in sports and games so that students become active, sportive, dashing, daring and adventurous capable of meeting the challenges in future life. Sultan Rind, former president Shikarpur Press Club, said that playing sports can make you stronger and healthier, contributing to lower obesity rates and they can bright their future. The other organizers, who contributed for games are including Shafqat Hussain Shujrah, Rais Arif Kareem Napar, Gulbahar Jatoi, Hidayatullah Mahar, Shoukat Ali Ghuniyo, Mujeeb Akbar Mahar, Fakir Hussain Hakro, Agha Nasurullah Durrani, Agha Abdul Rauf Pathan, Inaytullah Pathan, Shafquat Hussain Samejo and others. The people of Shikarpur praised the efforts made by Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Government of Sindh, In last, prizes are awarded to the winners by the honorable guests including Agha Shujauddin Pathan, Asghar Pahore, the Chairman Shikarpur Bachayo Tehreek and other notables of the city.
