Even after 22 years, Lahore Police could not ensure implementation of Police Order 2002. Due to non-implementation of the police order, the crime rate is increasing day by day due to the appointment of junior officers in senior positions. According to the Police Order 2002, it was necessary to have an inspector for the SHO of the police station to maintain law and order in the area. But it could not be implemented. Out of 84 police stations in Lahore, 35 inspectors and 49 SI SHOs are sitting. In Lahore, the provincial capital of Punjab, the crime rate has exceeded 30 percent. On a daily basis, hundreds of incidents of robbery, theft and vandalism are happening. It has been found out from different sources. Police officers are appointing SHOs with their own eyes. They are blowing merit. This issue has been going on for decades. Why are senior officers and other officials not taking notice of this important issue?
