Latif Khosa’s son arrested in Lahore for ‘assaulting cops’

Published on: January 1, 2024 12:24 PM

In a recent turn of events, Supreme Court Advocate Sardar Khurram Latif Khosa, the son of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Latif Khosa, has been apprehended by Mozang police station personnel, as reported by Geo News on Monday. Khosa alleges that his son’s arrest is politically motivated, asserting that they are being targeted due to their affiliation with the PTI.

The arrest was confirmed by the police, who disclosed that a case had been registered against Khurram at the Mozang police station. According to the First Information Report (FIR), Advocate Khurram, accompanied by 15 to 20 lawyers, purportedly assaulted policemen, issuing threats of severe consequences.

This incident follows a previous attack on another son of Latif Khosa, Balakh Sher Khosa, on January 24 of the preceding year. In that incident, assailants on a motorbike had targeted Balakh’s vehicle in the Iqbal Town area, causing injury to his arm.

Latif Khosa, a former leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party, made headlines on December 17 when he announced his decision to join the PTI. He emphasized that his choice was made in the best interests of the nation and democracy, citing the expressed wish of incarcerated PTI founder Imran Khan. This development is part of Khosa’s commitment to fervently advocate for truth and justice.

It is essential to note that the information provided is based on the available news report, and the situation may have evolved.
