DADU: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Dadu leadership has been divided into two factions after differences cropped up between Sorath Thebo, PML-N MPA from Sindh and party’s Dadu president Ali Nawaz Rind. Ali Nawaz Rind along with a number of party activists and office-bearers Friday held a protest in front of Dadu Press Club against what he dubbed disrespectful attitude of Marvi Memon, member National Assembly and chairperson of Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) and Sourath Thebo. He alleged that Memon during her visit to the BISP centre in Dadu and Thebo had insulted him and other party activists. Rind said that Memon and Sorath had asked party workers and activists to go out from a meeting without listening to their problems, which had sent a wrong message to the workers. He said that the PML-N office-bearers had wanted to raise the issues being faced by the BISP beneficiaries. “But Memon did not respond to their queries and paid attention to Sorath and BISP officials. He said that activists and office-bearers of the party had been neglected by the party’s MNAs from Dadu. They appealed to senior PML-N leadership, including Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz, to take notice of the issue and asked the Sindh governor to resolve their issues. Rejecting the allegations, Sorath said that BISP chairperson had had asked party’s workers and Dadu office-bearers to wait but they came out in anger. Published in Daily Times, September 23rd 2017.
