Following the directions of Chairman NAB, Lt. Gen (R) Nazir Ahmed, the NAB Lahore Director General (DG), Mr. Amjad Majeed Aulakh held an important ‘Open Court’ to address the queries of participating affectees. According to the details, Mr. Amjad Majeed Aulakh conducted sixth monthly Open Hearing (Khuli Ketchary) at NAB Lahore office and announced for initiating disbursement process of millions of rupees among Scam affectees. The distribution process to start from December 2023, he said. Mr. Amjad Majeed Aulakh clarified that NAB-L officers are doing their best to recover embezzled money of the masses from corrupt elements. While submitting claims, the effectees of Palm Vista Housing Society pleaded that the administration of said Society, at first, sold-out membership forms to general public. Later, they looted innocent people by selling hundreds of bogus plot files to masses; afterwards, by arranging different marketing programs and shows, said administration deceitfully lured general public by selling hundreds of acres of land while they had merely 206 Kanal approved land with them. On query to return payments, society administration provided cheques to affectees, which were bounced, later after. DG NAB Lahore ordered to initiate scrutiny process of the matter without any delay. While talking to the affectees of Pak-Arab Housing Society, DG NAB-L stated that the tireless efforts of NAB-L investigation team, the Bureau has successfully made a recovery of Rs1.4billion, however, a total recovery to the tune of Rs.2.4billion has been admitted by the accused persons, at instant. NAB Lahore plans to initiate across the board disbursement of recovered amount among all affectees. He also maintained that NAB would compensate all affectees on equal basis and approach Hon’ble Courts in case of non-compliance of court orders by accused persons. Addressing the affectees of Bin-Alam Society, DG NAB Lahore maintained that NAB has confiscated all the known properties found under accused persons names; however, a Reference is also under trial in the Lahore’s Trial Court, in which 100 witnesses have recorded their statements at yet. In the same case, the co-accused persons languished four years in jail until hon’ble Supreme Court admitted their bail pleas. DG NAB Lahore directed the Investigation team to pace-up the concluding efforts, on priority. While talking to the affectees of Model Housing Enclave, Mr. Amjad Majeed Aulakh announced that NAB Lahore had recovered Rs2.46 Billion, which has been successfully returned to affectees, however, an amount of Rs460 Million will be returned during upcoming days. Participating in the Open Court, the affectees of Al-Haram Tractors told the meeting that the owners of said fraudulent company grabbed millions on promise of delivering Tractors on five years installment plans, but vanished after collecting millions from innocent farmers. DG NAB ordered to collect all claims from affectees to start necessary proceedings against culprits. The affectees participating NAB-L “Open Court”, heartily admired and appreciated the vision of Chairman NAB, Lt Gen (R) Nazir Ahmed for bridging the gap between general masses and officials of NAB through conducting ‘Open Hearings’. They wished for successfully continuation of the process, in future.
