Sir: This is in response to the article ‘How long with Musharraf last?’ by Rasul Bakhsh Rais (Daily Times, May 29). I must appreciate his approach towards the current political situation in Pakistan. I like the way he has raised questions about the impending political storm. I agree with him and I am less sanguine about the prospects of peace and stability. In fact the two sides (the opposition and the government) seem determined for another war after the May 12 carnage. The military regime and the political opposition have created a big mess and have practiced putrid politics. In fact the nation seeks clemency and would like Musharraf to abdicate in the best interest of the country.MUHAMMAD ZAIBVia email
