Sir: I fully agree with the views expressed by Rasul Bakhsh Rais in the article “Whose war is this?” (Daily Times, October 30). I am involved in ‘de-radicalising’ Muslim extremists in the United Kingdom — more and more of whom happen to be of British-Pakistani backgrounds. From my observations, there is no sense of responsibility or respect in many of these radicals, and they are usually following the lead of a self-appointed Mullah or Sheikh who is primarily interested in power. Pakistanis must get together, regardless of their political affiliations, to deal with the growing problem of Talibanisation in the country, or Pakistan may as well give up as a state.
