Sir: The recent attacks on Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman have resulted in the death of innocent people besides injuring many others. These attacks were a sad reminder that our nation is still under attack. I personally believe that attacks of this kind are only aimed at creating unrest in society and have no other motive. The extremist forces are certainly trying to destabilise Pakistan, so that they can take over and rule the people. All those who support extremist elements must know that it is not about the propagation of Islam; these militants are fighting against the state for power. We have already seen this in Swat, where the locals supported the Taliban, but when they took over, the locals were simply abandoned.
